The first time I saw the Earth4Energy e-book, they had an advertisement on Popular Science magazine. I am an avid science student and Popular Science is one of my favorite reading materials.

After seeing the ad, I thought that it might be cool to build my own Do It Yourself (DIY) home solar power system to reduce my home energy consumption. I know a readymade solar system can cost upwards of $1000 – $1500. If I could get the system built for half the price, I would be very happy.

I then started to look for Earth4Energy download link and found their main web site at www.earth4energy.com/.

Earth4Energy Download Web Site

As it turns out, the Earth 4 Energy guide was written by an environmental enthusiast name Michael Harvey. Before visiting www.earth4energy.com, I didn’t know Earth4Energy was actually 2 guide books in one.

Anyone who is looking for Earth4Eneryg download link will be pleased to know you’ll be getting a DIY home solar power system guide and also a home wind generator guide. Both systems will work hand in hand to generate electricity which you can use to supplement your home energy consumption.

Earth4Energy Solar & Wind Power Guide

What can you learn from Michael Harvey’s manual? In the solar guide portion, you will learn how to make your own Photovoltaic panels for less than $150. Building your own solar panel is one of the ways you can use to keep the cost of a homemade solar system low.

In the wind generator guide, you will learn how to build of your own wind turbine to capture the potential energy of the wind and use it to generate electricity. If you were to buy a readymade wind turbine from a hardware store, be prepared to invest $350 – $500 a piece! A DIY home wind generator can be built with a budget of less than $200.

Are you ready to reduce your home electricity usage by using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power? If you are, head over to Earth4Energy download page and get a copy of the manual right now.

By following the instructions in the guides, you can start making your own solar panels and wind generator in just a couple of days. The amount of money you’ll save from reduced monthly electricity expenses will pay for the guide in no time.

The Earth 4 Energy e-book by Michael Harvey actually has 2 sections. One section consist of Do It Yourself (DIY) home solar power system while the other section covers a residential wind generator. In this post, I am going to review the wind generator section of Earth4Energy.

The residential wind energy guide is actually in PDF file format. It starts off by explaining how we can harness the energy of wind to produce electricity which can be used to supplement our home energy needs.

In general, the wind power system consists of 5 parts which are the generator, blades, mounting, tower and control panel.

The process works by using the blade to capture the wind potential energy to spin the generator which will produce Direct Current (DC). The current is then stored in a battery bank. A power inverter will be used to change the Direct Current to Alternative Current (AC). The AC can then be used to power most of the electrical appliances at home.

From the looks of it, making the wind generator is easier compared to making a home solar power system. Reason being, there are less wiring and soldering works.

A typical solar panel will require at least 70 soldering points. Your solar system may need from 3 – 5 solar panels. You can do the math there.

The hardest part in the construction process is making the blades of the wind generator. No doubt Earth4Energy provides a set of blueprint, but it does require some precision skill. It is best you have an electric saw and sanding machine.

Should you attempt to make the DIY wind generator yourself?

That depends on your personal skill set actually. If you can make a DIY solar panel, making a wind generator to work together with the system should not be much of a challenge for you.

Then again, if you can’t read a wiring diagram and if you are not good with hand tools, it is best you outsource the whole project and save yourself a bunch of headache.

For more information about Michael Harvey’s manual, check out the Earth4Energy review on this blog.

Does the Earth4 Energy e-book by Michael Harvey works? Will it help to reduce your home electricity bills?

The key behind the Earth4 Energy guide is to teach you how to make a Do It Yourself (DIY) solar panel with minimal cost. A typical Photovoltaic (PV) panel consists of 36 PV cells capable of generating 18 volts of electricity at 75 watts.

Joining a couple of solar panels together and you’ll be able to harness the free energy from the sun and use is to charge up a battery bank. The same battery bank can then be used to power some of your home electrical appliances and most of the lighting fixtures.

How much would it cost to make a solar panel on your own? By following the instruction in Earth4 Energy, you can get it done with less than $150. The budget can get lower if you are willing to do some work sourcing for used or recycled solar cells.

There is a disclaimer though. A homemade solar panel is not a difficult task. However, if you are not good with hand tools and you don’t know how to solder two pieces of wires together, the whole project can be very challenging for you.

Imaging this….you have 36 pieces of PV cell and each cell has 2 tabbing wires. All the tabbing wires have to be soldered to each other to form a series of photo conducting cell. Therefore, you have to do more than 72 soldered wire joints!

If you don’t feel comfortable handling hot iron rods or working with molten metal, it is fair to say making the DIY solar panel will not work for you.

So what’s your alternative then?

You can head over to Amazon.com and buy a readymade solar panel.

To wrap up, is the Earth4 Energy guide by Michael Harvey the real deal?

It will show you how to make a solar panel on your own with step by step instructional videos, but the rest is up to you. If you have patient and dedication, the DIY solar panel will supply sufficient power for your home solar power system.

If you are planning to use solar or wind energy for your home, most probably you will begin your research on the internet. When you are doing your research on the web, sooner or later, you will come across the Earth 4 Energy e-book by Michael Harvey.

Earth4Energy is one of the top selling home renewable energy guides on the internet. It sells by the thousands of copies every month.

Even with its popularity, many people are still not very sure where to download the e-book. In this article, I will explain the purchase process for the manual.

The main web site of Earth4Energy is located at www.earth4energy.com. It is a standard sales copy explaining the benefits of the manual.

At the bottom of the page, there is a “Add To Cart” button. Clicking on the button will bring you to the Secure Payment transaction form. At this stage, you may notice the Clickbank Marketplace logo.

If this is your first online purchase, you may not have heard of Clickbank.

Clickbank is actually the largest portal on the internet that sells information products and software. Clickbank handles millions of dollars of online transaction every year. It is a trusted and reputable company.

If you want to download the Earth4Energy e-book, Clickbank will handle the transaction for you. This means you do not deal directly with the publisher from Earth4Energy.

When someone purchased anything from Clickbank, he is automatically covered by their 60 days money back guarantee policy. For whatever reason, if you do not like what you have purchased, you can ask for a full refund within 60 days from the purchase date.

The mistake that many people made is going back to the publisher to ask for a refund. Most of the time, they will not get any support from the publisher because they went to the wrong channel. Clickbank has an entire system to handle refund.

When you are buying the Earth4Energy guide, you have 2 payment options. You can choose to pay by credit or debit card or you can select the Paypal option. Everything is very seamless.

One of the most popular home renewable energy guides on the internet right now is Michael Harvey’ Earth For Energy (Earth4Energy). It is selling by the thousands of copies every month.

What is the reason behind its popularity?

Many home owners are concern about rising energy cost. Apart from our bank mortgage, our electricity bill is one of the largest household expenses. To reduce energy consumption, many people are looking into solar power to supplement their electricity needs.

However, a home solar system installed by a professional contractor is very expensive. We are talking about the range of $30,000 and above depending on your current home energy consumption. The time it takes to recover your investment can range from 20 to 30 years!

As a cheaper alternative, many home owners are setting up a home solar system via a Do It Yourself (DIY) approach.

How much would it cost to install a DIY solar system?

A realistic figure is about $1000 to $2000. The major components are the solar panel, charge controller, circuit breaker box, meter gauges, battery bank and power inverter.

The system would not be able to power all of your electrical appliances, but it will handle most of it. It can also be used to power all of your room lighting fixtures.

To reduce your cost even further, you can make your own solar panel. This is where the Earth4Energy e-book will come in handy.

The manual basically shows you how to make a solar panel with step by step instruction. The budget you’ll need to set aside is roughly $150. A typical homemade solar panel consists of 36 pieces of 3” x 6” Photovoltaic (PV) cells.

By soldering all the solar cells together, it is capable of generating 18 volts and approximately 75 watts of electricity under direct sunlight. The power generated is capable of charging a 12 volt deep cycle battery.

So is Michael Harvey’s Earth 4 Energy worth the investment?

Personally, I think it is a good buy. I bought my copy about a year ago. Back then, what I received was only 2 pdf files and a couple of videos.

Since then, they have added a few more instructional videos in the members’ area. The videos are step by step instruction of how to make a solar panel recorded in High Definition (HD). I was really impressed by the quality.

If you are thinking of setting up your own home solar power system and you don’t want to spend too much money, check out the Earth4Energy guide.

One of the very first e-book on home renewable energy guide is Michael Harvey’s Earth4Energy. I had that manual for more than a year now.

All this while I have been wondering, is Michael Harvey a real person?

That question came about when I was reading Seth Godin’s All Marketers Are Liars book. That’s a great title isn’t it? It worked because the title of the book got my attention.

In the book, Seth talks about the power of storytelling in a low-trust world such as the internet. Selling on the world wide web is very different from selling in a retail store. There are too many choices, too many noise and minimal human interaction. It is very hard for a web site to build trust.

To be successful selling on the web, you must be able to tell a good story about your product or service. In fact, we as a consumer want to listen to a story about the product or service before we make our decision.

That lead me back to Michael Harvey of Earth4Energy. According to the www.earth4energy.com web site, Michael is a renewable energy enthusiast and a co-founder.

The story was, Michael found a way to make a low cost home solar power system that managed to reduce his home electricity bill. He actually wrote the Earth4Energy manual together with his good friend Mark.

Michael’s idea was also tested on 43 solar newbies and they managed to build a solar panel which is capable of generating electricity to power some of their electrical appliances at home.

It is a good story no doubt, but is the story teller real?

When I was pondering that question, I came to realize one thing…do I really care whether Michael Harvey is real or not?

Well, actually I couldn’t care less.

When I first decided to buy a copy of Earth4Energy, what I really wanted was the content in the manual. I had a problem back then because I was paying a lot of money for electricity at home. I wanted to know if I can reduce my home power consumption by using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.

The truth is, I really don’t care how they market or package the e-book. As long as I get some value out of it, I am happy. I am sure other people will feel otherwise.

If you are having the same problem of high home energy cost and you are looking for ways to supplement your energy needs with solar or wind power, check out the Earth4Energy guide. They told a very good story.

Earth 4 Energy by Michael Harvey is one of the first residential renewable energy guides that I bought. The second one is Green DIY Energy from www.greendiyenergy.com.

Are there any differences between Earth 4 Energy versus Green DIY Energy?

As a matter of fact, there are.

High Definition (HD) Instructional Videos

Earth 4 Energy

When I first bought my copy of Earth4Energy last year, there are 3 instructional videos that you can download from the members’ area. To be honest, the video quality isn’t much to talk about.

When I purchased Green DIY Energy in March 2009, there was a total of 6 High Definition (HD) step by step instructional videos on how to build your own DIY solar panel. I was pretty impressed with the videos quality.

Lately, I decided to have a look in the Earth 4 Energy members’ area. They have just uploaded 7 new videos. They videos were professionally done with lots of animation, cut scenes and great background music.

I am not familiar with the video recording industry, but from the looks of the videos released by Earth 4 Energy, it would have cost at least $50,000 to make!

The Distinct Differences

Green DIY Energy

After viewing all the videos from Earth 4 Energy and Green DIY Energy, there are some distinct differences.

Firstly, the videos from Earth 4 Energy give you the “big picture” of a home solar power system.

Watching the videos reminds me of being in a high school science class learning about electricity…but with lots of visual simulation.

It shows you the macro aspect of a residential solar power system.

The videos from Green DIY Energy are more detailed. You actually learn step by step how to solder Photovoltaic (PV) cells together, lined them up into strings, wired them together and test it with a multi-meter.

It is the micro aspect of a home solar power system.

If you were to combine all the videos together, it will be a great learning package. You get to learn how a home solar power system works, and then have detailed instructions on how to make a solar panel. I am looking forward to see the video series to make a home wind generator.

One of the most popular home renewable energy e-book on the internet is Earth4Energy. The manual has been offered on the web for more than a year and it is still the top selling e-book on residential green energy system. The Earth4 Energy guide sells in the thousands of copies a month.

Even though it’s a hot product, still many people may not have heard about it. That’s the reason I want to do a special review on the e-book.

The Main Web Site

Firstly, Earth 4 Energy main web site is at www.earth4energy.com. When you first visit the web page, you will see a big red title telling you “How to make your own solar panel for less than $200”. You can see the screen capture in the picture above.

It’s a pretty bold statement. The question is, can it be done?

Here’s The Catch

Having read the manual, making your own DIY solar panel for less than $200 is definitely possible. In actual fact, you can get it done with less than $100.

Here’s the catch and many people missed this point. The budget of less than $200 is for 1 solar panel, not the whole solar power system.

The DIY solar panel design as recommended in Earth 4 Energy is capable of generating about 18 volts and approximately 75 watts of electricity on a sunny day.

This is done by using 36 pieces of Photovoltaic (PV) cells. The panel is sufficient to charge a 12 volt deep cycle battery which can then be used to power your home electrical appliances.

To setup a complete residential solar energy system, you will need to investment more than $200. There are multiple components in the system such as DC disconnect, electric gauges, switches, charge controller, battery bank, power inverter, circuit breaker etc which require some capital investment.

Building The Inexpensive Solar Panel

The key to making a cheap solar module is preparation.

You have to spend some time to source for the PV cells. What the Earth 4 Energy manual does is to show you how and where to source for cheap building material and parts.

Step By Step Instructional Videos

When you have located the parts and components needed, the e-book also comes with 7 High Definition (HD) step-by-step instructional videos. The picture above shows the the first introduction video of Earth4Energy.

If you have no idea how to get started on your DIY solar module, the videos will come in very handy.

Review Conclusion

Making your own homemade solar panel with less than $200 is not difficult. However, it does require some leg work, time and patient.

Some people do not have the patient. If you are one of this people, the best option is to buy a readymade solar panel for homes.

If you are working on a small budget, the Earth4Energy e-book will show you how to get the most out of it.

One of the first renewable energy e-book that I bought from the web was Michael Harvey’s Earth 4 Energy. Before I started this blog, I do not have much knowledge about solar power or wind energy.

The place I stayed in is very close to the equator and pretty much has sun coverage 365 days a year. There’s only 2 seasons here, which is the hot and rainy season. Solar energy would work just fine here.

At home, we do use solar power, and it is for water heating only. From what I’ve learned, the system is also known as passive solar energy system. The system does not use any active mechanical movement to generate the hot water. It may be hot and humid here, but we do need hot water for shower at night.

Come to think of it, the solar water heater has been installed for more than 20 years. Imagine that! And it is still going strong. I am actually quite amazed by the long life span of the system.

As I was reading the Earth 4 Energy manual, I came across Chapter 3 where Michael mentioned the “portable solar power system”. I got me thinking. What can we do with a movable energy generator?

Making the system does not seem very difficult. In general there are only 4 main components which are the solar panel, charge controller, battery, inverter and finally to the load or electrical appliances. This is sort of like a mini version of a full blown home solar power system. As its name suggest, the system can be moved from one place to another.

I think the portable solar energy system is great if you are an outdoor person. If you like to go camping or weekend fishing trip, the system seems like a good fit for you.

Imagine setting up a solar array on a tree, let it soak up the sun ray, store the power in the battery and use it to power a heater to warm up the camp at night. Free energy thanks to mother nature.

According to Michael, the small solar energy system can be made with a budget of less than $200. Honestly, I think this is possible but you would have to do some leg work.

Some of the parts such as the Photovoltaic (PV) cells for the solar array can be sourced from ebay. It is the same case with the battery. I actually did 2 blog posts on that.

I wrote about how to find cheap solar cells and how to find inexpensive battery on ebay couple of days ago. I did the search on ebay myself and I know you can find cheap part for a Do It Yourself (DIY) solar power system.

If you are a person good with hand tools, building your own portable solar power system would not be much of a challenge. It is a matter of getting it done.

If you want to bring your electrical equipment such as heater, toaster, laptop, radio etc when you go camping, you need a power source for them. The movable solar power system is perfect for that.

There are a few other suggestions in the Earth 4 Energy e-book on how to find cheap parts. Some people are not really convinced and think Earth4Energy is a scam. If you want more information, read the e-book review that I wrote on this blog. It may just change your mind.

After looking through my blog traffic log, I notice a lot of people are looking for answer about Michael Harvey’s Earth 4 Energy e-book. A lot of people wanted to know whether Earth 4 Energy is a scam.

Since so many people wanted to know if it’s a fraud, I thought of writing a post about it.

The Promise Made By Earth4Energy

When you first visit Michael’s main web site at www.earth4energy.com, you are greeted with a large red headline, “How to make your own solar panels for less than $200“. That is the main benefit that they promised you will get out of the manual.

Is it possible? Can you build a DIY solar panel with such a low budget?

It is fair to say, if an everyday Joe can’t construct the solar module within the suggested budget, wouldn’t that proves Earth 4 Energy is a scam?

Then again, if a person follows the instructions laid out in the guide and managed to complete the project within the said budget, it is a good chance the e-book is legit.

I wanted to test my theory therefore I decided to do some research.

Building An Inexpensive Solar Panel

As you can see from the diagram above, it shows the costing of a typical DIY solar panel. As it turns out, the total cost for the panel is only $98.20.

I have some doubt about the figure…so let’s do some digging.

From the costing, the most expensive item is the solar cells. It is $67.50 or about 68% of the overall budget.

I wanted to find out if the Photovoltaic (PV) costing is accurate.

Cheap Solar Cells at Ebay

According to Earth4Energy, the place to find cheap solar cells is at Ebay. The homemade solar panel suggested in the manual requires 36 pieces of 3” x 6” cells. The total power output of the panel is about 18 volt and approximately 75 watts of electricity.

It took me about 10 minutes to find the right kind of solar cells I am looking for. The closest listing that I could find in Ebay is 36 pieces of 3” x 5” PV cells with an offer price of $56.50.

The end figure is quite close to the budget suggested in the Earth 4 Energy guide.

The Conclusion

So, is Earth 4 Energy a fraudulent scam?

As it turns out, the DIY solar module costing is quite accurate.
Michael Harvey is assuming most of us have some of the building material such as paint, Plexiglas, copper wire etc available in our garage therefore he did not account for that.

Well, the fact it, we may not have these items with us.

The material has to be bought from a hardware store. However, I don’t think it is going to be very expensive. An additional $20 would have been enough to cover the cost. The most expensive item is still the solar cells.

After my research, it IS possible to build a home solar panel for less than $150. Earth 4 Energy promised you’ll learn how to get is done for less than $200.

Personally, I think Michael Harvey’s claim is legit.

I understand some readers may be skeptical and I respect their opinion. If you would like to put in your thoughts, feel free to write in the comment box below.
