There is no fixed rules on the size or arrangement of the solar cells. 4x9 and 3x12 is the most common arrangement. 

You have to take into consideration on the size of Plexiglass. If your solar panel is of non-standard dimension, it would be hard to find a standard size Plexiglass to cover it. Custom cut Plexiglass is more expensive.</description>

		<description>You mentioned there are only two arraignments possible for the lay out of 36 solar cells. 4 rows of 9 or 3 rows of 12. My question is this why 6 rows of 6 are not possible.
